BBQ Pinto Beans
1 lb. pinto beans
6 cups water
2 bay leaves
1 sage leaf
1 small diced onion
1 green bell pepper
1/3 cup vegetable oil
4 slices diced bacon
1/2 tsp salt
3 tbsp Joe's BQ Resque Red Rub
Joe's BQ Resque Red Applewood Sauce


Rinse and soak beans overnight

In a heavy skillet, saute bacon lightly to render out the fat, add vegetable oil. Over a low flame saute the rest of the ingredients. Add seasoning. Simmer for approx 4 hours or until beans are soft but not mushy. Make sure beans are covered with cooking liquid the entire time.

When beans are cooked, add Joe's BQ Applewood Smoked BBQ Sauce.
